Woodrush High School Open Evening & Open Mornings 2026
Thursday 24th September 2026 – 5:30pm to 8:30pm

Monday 28th & Tuesday 29th September at 9:00am - Limited spaces available

On behalf of all the staff at Woodrush, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to our Open Evening for our 2027 intake which will be held on the evening of Thursday 25th September 2025.

Woodrush High School, part of The Black Pear Trust, is an academy for students aged 11 to 18. Our school is a thriving community for learning and personal growth. Our most recent inspection recognised some of the unique strengths of our wonderful school and I encourage you to take some time to read the full Ofsted report from April 2024 which can be found on our website.

Some commentaries included:
•    The school is a harmonious community where difference is celebrated, and pupils behave
•    considerately to each other.
•    Adults at Woodrush High go the extra mile for [students], both in their studies and the many extra
•    curricular opportunities that are organised for [students].
•    The school takes pride in its role in the local community, and pupils take a lead in promoting this.
•    The staff at Woodrush all bring commitment, care and passion and they all play a key role in our delivery of a broad curriculum with many enriching opportunities and experiences that inspire, challenge and celebrate their skills and talents.
•    The school has put in place an ambitious curriculum for all pupils.
•    Appropriate adaptations are made for learning in class or with personalised support. As a result, these pupils achieve well.

Our Open Evening will provide you with an insight into our facilities, our curriculum, our values and, most importantly, a chance to meet some of our wonderful students and staff.

Arrangements for the evening
Our school will be open to visitors from 5.30pm until 8.30pm. Due to the high numbers of visitors anticipated during the evening, we are running two separate sessions arranged across the evening.
•    Tour session 1 is from 5.30 to 7.00pm (Headteacher and Leadership Team’s talk at 5:40pm)
•    Tour session 2 is from 7.00 to 8.30pm (Headteacher and Leadership Team’s talk at 7:10pm)

Our curriculum, pastoral and senior leadership team will be available during the evening to talk to you about Woodrush, and you will have an opportunity to tour the whole school and our facilities.

Our 2026 school prospectus, which will also contain our admissions summary, will be available when you arrive at the main entrance of the school.
