An Academy for Students Aged 11-18

Excellence Through Endeavour

Virtual Learning

Our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is our online platform for learning.

The VLE is made up of various online programmes, selected by Curriculum and Academy Leaders, designed with students and staff in mind – so that they can easily access learning sites that can support students in a number of ways.

These include:

  • Complete or submit homework;
  • Assist in home study;
  • Review lesson materials;
  • Revise for assessments;
  • Re-test learning before or after an assessment;
  • Access links to subject and qualification videos, documents or materials
  • Provide wider insight and activities to deepen learning

All of which come with the flexibility of completion before, during or beyond the school day at times to suit the student and / or when deemed timely by the teacher within a scheme of learning.

At Woodrush, we very much value the benefits of VLE programmes in complementing our taught curriculum and we adopt an evidence-informed approach to our selection of learning platforms based on the strength of educational research and our own monitoring and impact reports.

For students, not only can these programmes help to accelerate their learning but they do so in user-friendly, interactive, visually-stimulating, personalised and often fun ways.

In this section, we hope you will gain useful insight, with links to further information should you require, into the various online programmes that our VLE incorporates.
