Sixth Form Open Evening 2025

Thursday 27th November 2025

6-8pm

We invite you to attend the Woodrush Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 21st November.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students with their parents and carers, to understand the pathways and education that Woodrush Sixth has to offer. Our sixth form is based upon 3 core values; that we empower students and we enrich learning so that our students achieve. This is with the ultimate aim that our students can progress onto university, apprenticeships or employment to fulfil their ambitions.

The evening will consist of:

  • Welcome to Woodrush Sixth presentation from Mr Barber (Headteacher).
  • Introduction to Woodrush Sixth presentation from Mr Roche (Assistant Headteacher).
  • Faculty presentations led by our curriculum leaders about the subjects their faculty offers, and how these subjects empower students, enrich learning and lead to achievement. The presentations will be repeated on the night as outlined in the schedule on this letter.
  • Post 16 Pastoral presentation led by our fantastic post 16 pastoral support team in our bespoke post 16 study space. Woodrush Sixth students will also be able to give a student perspective about daily life and their experiences at Woodrush Sixth.
  • Faculty marketplace where you will be able to meet with subject specialist staff and speak to current post-16 students about their subject specific learning experiences at Woodrush. You will also be able to review student work, gain an overview of the subjects on offer, and understand what learning is like at Woodrush Sixth in each subject.

The evening is designed to be flexible so you can drop in and out of each faculty at your own pace and attend the sessions which appeal to you most. We strongly encourage all students and their parents/carers to attend the “Welcome to Woodrush Sixth” and “Introduction to Woodrush Sixth” which will begin at 6.00pm in the Main Hall. The school will be open from 5.40 pm for you to take a seat in the Main Hall ready for the presentations to begin at 6.00pm.

If you can’t make these introductory presentations, please feel free to attend whenever you can during the evening. You are welcome to then listen to the faculty presentations and talk to staff and students in the marketplace sessions which run continually throughout the evening. You will be provided on the night with a guide for the evening (including locations of the sessions), a copy of our Woodrush Sixth Prospectus, subject options, entry requirements and details of how to apply for Woodrush Sixth.
