Free School Meals

Applying for Free School Meals (FSM) is quick, easy and completely confidential, and it can make a real difference to both families and the school.

If your child is eligible, they will receive a free, nutritious meal every school day. In addition, registering for FSM helps the school to access additional funding, which directly supports students through resources, interventions, enrichment activities and wider opportunities. Even if your child does not always take the meal, it is still important to register.

Could your child be eligible?

Your child may qualify for Free School Meals if you receive any of the following benefits:

Income Support
Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit (provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and your annual income, as assessed by HMRC, does not exceed £16,190)
Working Tax Credit ‘run-on’ (paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
